We want to make housing more affordable for the middle class. We will provide tax credits to renters, make it easier to build more rental units and decrease taxes and fees on new housing while protecting California’s environment and our quality of life. Housing should be under local zoning control, where local city councils and planning commissions best know their people.
By building more lanes for cars and light rail, we can connect the outlying areas to the metropolitan job centers and create more accessible real estate on which to build housing.
Dr. Glew is a licensed engineer in CA and has served on the Los Altos Design Review Commission for over four years. He is well aware of the impediments that the local government entities can erect to impede housing development and increase housing costs. We need to make it easier to build while still maintaining local control.
